I'm getting a squealing sound when I apply the brakes, which seems to be coming from the front. However I just checked my front pads yesterday and all still have LOTS of life left on them. They are nowhere near the wear indicator.

My rear pads were replaced less than 1 year ago so I'm nearly certain that's not it. I also do not hear any noise when pulling up the e-brake while moving.

When I removed the driver side front caliper yesterday, the inner pad looked a bit dis-lodged from the clip. I set it back in the proper place and reinstalled everything, but I'm still getting that squealing sound. Anything else I might look for?

*edit I just started hearing this noise a few weeks ago, but these front pads have been on the car for over a year.

Take out your pads and put some brake grease on the BACK side of the shim NOT on the pad itself. The squeaking is actually the pads vibrating.

if you have a rust ridge around the rotor is will cause light squealing when you apply the brakes.

sand down the rust ridges on the inside and outside of the rotors. and make sure you apply anti-seize compound to the contact points where the pads sit inside the caliper brakets.
