I'd go back and read the rule book if i were you.

the SCCA doesn't require or allow anything. SFI set the 2 year standard, and FIA set the 5 year standard. SCCA simply accepts belts that are SFI or FIA approved.

From the GCR Section 9.3.18G1
"Restraint systems meeting SFI 16.1 or 16.5 shall bear a dated
SFI Spec label. The certification indicated by this label shall
expire on December 31st of the 2nd year after the date of
manufacture as indicated by the label. If for example the manufacture
date is 2006 the second year after the date of manufacture
is 2008."

Thats pretty clear to me.

SFI pushed SCCA to accept their BS standard. Its good for their manufactures to have this kind of turn over.

updated, saved me from buying a fake pair, thanks!

My real question is DOES Takata RE-Tag their belts? Most belt manuf. will let you send in your belt for inspection, if it passed it will get verified and re-tagged for current usage at a track. Anyone with insight on this would be helpful.
