Re: formula v traction compound (vodomagoo)
The stuff makes your tires sticky like new. It doesn't last as long as actual new sticky tires but it far cheaper.
It's a liquid that you apply to the tires over 3 days. Instructions are on the jug.

I've used it. It actually seems to work for rejuvenating heat-cycled-out Hoosiers to something at least usable as a backup qualifying tire.
I applied it using disposable foam paint brushes from Harbor Freight.

i always buy used tires. i am a "el cheapo" racer. so i have used Trac V many times.
i have developed an easy application method. i put the car up on 4 jackstands. using a medium sized roller (the kind you use to paint a house), i roll the wheel with my left hand while holding the roller to the bottom of the tire. i generally do about 4 revolutions per tire. do all four tires. let it dry for 45 minutes. reapply. do this 3 times, waiting 45 minutes between each application. wait overnight. reapply 3 more times. wait overnight. reapply 3 more times. let sit for 3 days. go racing!
a 1 gal bottle is about $30. this is good for about 4 to 5 races usually.
good luck
Todd
ps be sure to be in a well vented area!!!

Re: formula v traction compound (Todd Reid)
I got a jug of it and four full sets of used race slicks so I will be using it soon enough. I have talked to techs at Hoosier about their thought on it. Basically not too thrilled but maybe it can stretch a tad more sticky life out of used ones. Nothing is going to beat fresh rubber but if used rubber is the only option, this seems to have some short term impact.
Thanks Todd, sounds like you've got a good system to follow for application.

I'd say you get one "pretty good" session, one fairly slow session, and they're trash again. Certainly worthwhile for those of us using Hoosiers, whos grip disappears after 8 - 12 heat cycles. This stuff can also rejuvenate tires to be "good enough" for use at a HPDE.
