alright on my ef, the passenger side quarter panel is damage and has a nice sized dent in it, like an inch away from the door. i was wonder how hard this will be to get fixed, as i want my car to look nice someday haha.

would it be expensive at a body shop, or possible for me to fix it myself?

if you dont have any experience in major body repair, your gonna have a heck of a time getting that straight with pulling and filling.

New quarter panel section, thats the only way to do it.

Disease

You need a new quarter panel. Not something that you might be able to do if you are asking. You could try to fix it but it would just be alot of metal shrinking and so much mud on the car that the time put into fixing it could have been put into replacing it instead. You could also go for a new door skin as well. Unless the intrusion beam was hit then just get a good used door on the car.

the actual panels themselves arent too bad, you can find them aftermarket for relatively cheap compared to oem ones. its the labor that is gonna killa ya, if you dont know the procedures needed to replace a quarter panel, if you lack the tools and experience, dont do it. Cutting, drilling,measuring, window pulling,welding, filling, priming and painting are required. If your new to bodywork, either break out a book and your wallet to buy all the stuff you need, or go to a shop and have it replaced. will probably cost you around 1500 or so if your replacing the entire panel. you will get away with it for less if you have the option to only replace part of the panel. this is not something you want to dive into if your a noob at body repair.

its possible to fix yourself, if you had the know how. if taken to the right body shop they'd just replace it and take your right arm from you. taken to the wrong body shop they'd probably filler it.

if around 1500 is too much for you to afford, then you are better off buying another car lol. because that quarter+paint and possibly fixing the door = $$$

hah well i guess ill just have fun with this, then later on buy another one or an eg or something and swap stuff over

That CAN be fixed without quarter panel replacement, just takes time and the right tools and now how to fix it, I have straightened panels worse than that with minimal filler used in the end. I say give it a shot, you can learn from trying and what do you have to lose? Look at some online sites about body work and pulling dents and try it out.

hah thanks for the encouragement, i've been reading up on what/how to do it and i think ill give it a shot this weekend, ill let you all know how it goes

a stud welder and puller will be your friend on this one.good luck dude,your gonna need it if that is your first crack at bodywork. Hammer and dolllllyyyyy my man. your gonna need to be using some stretch armstrong to get to the other side of the panel.The metal work is the most important, the straighter you can get the metal, the less filler your gonna have to use which will equal a stroner panel less prone to cracking. just remember the more filler you use, the weaker it becomes. So just take alot of time trying to straighten that metal. I personally wouldnt even bother with it. It really needs replacement, but if your gonna take a shot at it than dont half *** it. have fun playing with the mud, ha.

the time u will have involved in pulling and mudding that thing is def not worth it. Cut and weld a new quarter on that thing
