I'm looking at possibly buying everything I need to do a retrofit on my 00 Civic. Now, I've read up on alot of the retrofit threads, but I haven't really seen if there are any specific hids from certain cars that fit or work easier on the 99-00 civic headlights. Does anyone have any suggestions on what a good set of hids that would be relatively easy to install? Should I get this off of ebay or forums?

I would get some tsx projectors ive had them before. They are cheap and have GREAT light output. I have s2000's and they are the best single beam projector out. But they cost alot of money and I shouldnt have even got them. If i could i would just go back to tsx's. They are all pretty hard to install since your going to have to hack up your headlights and get them lined and aim the correct way. hidplanet.com would help alot I learned everything i know from there.

Any OEM kit is going to be of great quality. For the mostpart, get whatever HIDs you can find a deal on.

The TSX projectors are quite popular, as they have excellent color output and cutoff.

any advice on the best places to get these at a decent price? ebay I would imagine although, are there any regulars on there that anyone knows of that sell hids often?

ebay is gonna gouge for popularity, while the forums will give you good prices.
Like HMT for motor ****.

I've got FX projectors and love em. They're no s2ks or tsxs, but they're wide and bi-xenon ( ) and if I get so inclined can do a cheap lens swap and get uber sharp cutoff and color. (but I'm just happy for now have real deal HID projectors = teh sex)

i got infinity fx bi-xenon projectors in my headlights and they are great...they were only 70 bucks on ebay and i just used the ballasts i had from my "plug and play" kit.

will eventually get some real ballasts, but the big thing is in the projectors.

my fx+shield mod is ****. love it.

how hard is the actual electrical install on these? From everything I've read its just tieing up the power and ground for the hi beams and low beams and thats it. Is this true or am I missing something?

I got you some g35 projectors for 55 bucks shipped if you'd like.
They are the twin brother of the fx and yes they are bixenons. I also have some e30 clear lenses that work like a charm. Better results than with the tsx lense swap.
e30 is 60 bucks man
then ballasts i can hook you up with a set for 130 with a 3yr warranty.
Relay harness i can teach you how to make your own for bixenon setups. That way, your bixenon solenoids would work perfectly.

^ word. A quality retrofit can EASILY be done on the cheap. You just have to be willing to put in the work.

I have joined the hidplanet forum, but for some reason theyre saying my account is inactive as if for some reason I haven't "confirmed" it like some places do w/ automatic emails right after you register. I'm almost positive I havent recieved an email like this, and basically can't figure out how the hell to contact anyone on there. Anyone know of an admins email on there that I could contact to get this problem fixed?

Striker, thanks for the email info. I did email the guy, twice infact, and still havent been able to get a response or anything. I really would like to be able to use that forum and its kinda frustrating considering I've already registered and everything. Any advice?

Also, u sell tsx projectors right? What kinda pricing would u charge for a whole setup, meaning, bi-xenon projectors, shrouds, and ballasts/igniters and wiring harness? I'm having a hard time finding a good setup for wiring also. Is it really required to wire directly to the battery? I had assumed that you could directly wire to the power running from the stock headlight wiring harness, but from what I'm reading in the main "hid thread" everyone is doing this diy harness w/ wiring to the battery etc.. Again, sorry to ask questions many other people have asked, but since the hidplanet forum isnt letting me get on, I'm still lacking answers.

sorry i was busy with retros
look at mine:
had to install them and then putting the finishing touches on a bike retro i did ...it's for a ninja 250R with a clear-lense swap.
tsx = 100
ballasts, bulbs, relay harness = 145
