usdm k20a2 vs jdm k20 type r
Hey guys, I am not too familiar with these motors, but I would love to swap an A2 into a 92 hatch, my only question is what is the difference between the complete swaps? Are the trannies the same? Like I said my knowledge is limited but perhaps this could make a good sticky for this forum since not a lot of people would know the major differences and a thread like this could definitely help out a newbie like myself.

Re: usdm k20a2 vs jdm k20 type r
JDM k20a R: better intake manifold / cams / bigger port / 0.5 more compression(11.5CR) THAN k20a2 .. Transmissions are same except diffrential(JDM has helical lsd)..
200hp k20a2 -- 220hp k20a R
About swap into hatch everything is same. But jdm has 1 extra good thing..You can use Standard PRC ecu(no immo).. k20a2 swap you have to use K-Pro or disable immo...

actually, it has the same port size as the a2 head but different intake springs. the k20a also has a tubular style header with the cat further down on the secondary
