Thanks for the reply... Why am I going to get Laughed at?? I'm asking questions so I don't make a mistake. I didn't think it was stupid to ask questions. The motor in the car is blowen and I was told I could us the head off the H22A on the H23A and make a stroker motor?

o ok.. u should of put that in there too..i thought u just wanted to take ur h22a1 out and put in a h23 sorry.. well just putting a h22 head on a h23 block wont make it a stroker.. it will make ur 2.3 block to vtec then but u will need more parts but if u have both motors it should come together.. if u wanted to make it a strocker or build ur motor up look some parts up like crank , rods, pistons,ect.. its not gunna be cheap at all but if thats the way u wanna go its worth it.. good luck any more ? ill try to help

There's a lot more to it than just swapping heads and if you want it to last the bottom end needs to be balanced. The FAQ thread has all the answers you need as this motor has been built by many and is very common.

The H23A is a DOHC VTEC and it will be awhile before we can have all the work done after getting the H23A VTEC in the car. Are you all saying I should just go back with JDM H22A??

Oh I just read the part about building a frank engine. The main thing with the H23a from the Accord SiR wagon is you need an adapter from roskoracing for the IACV and the fact that it's OBD2, other than that it's not a hard swap. Oh yeah, the ECU might be hard to find but pretty sure you can easily get a P72 with a basemap since the motor is becoming more and more popular.

I think I am just going to put a JDM H22A VTEC back in the car. Sorry I know nothing about these engines. The H22A1 VTEC in the car is blowen up. Will the JDM accept the crank sensor from the USDM motor. Is the JDM motor drilled for the crank sensor.. I think this is the best route for me. Should just drop back in right?

The only thing about swapping a JDM one into your car is the fuel rail, use your old one, same with wiring harness, other than that make sure you order a OBD2 one as your car is OBD2.

My post wasn't because I thought it was a bad idea. It was because this is pretty basic stuff that's been covered MANY times before. Search

Did you read his post by chance? I don't blame you if you didn't since it sounded ridiculous. It's a 96 (OBD2) going from H22A1 (I assume 96') to H23A VTEC, which to my understanding is exclusively OBD2.

Guys, chill out with the FAQ ****, it's a direct swap and the ECU will work too. Not "ideal", but more than safe to run and rev up to 7200RPM

To the OP: use everything from your motor so you don't have any of that ridiculous japanese bullshit. those silly gooses drive on the opposite side of the road, wtf could they possibly know?! bahaha

^I already corrected myself about the OBD2 thing, sometimes when I see 4th gen I'll think OBD1.

Use everything off of the old motor, since obdII h22a1 only came in 96 so if you swap your intake manifold onto a replacement motor you wont have to do any wiring. I would stick to an h22 so that your motor and ecu match up as closely as possible.
