Resleeving H22 block?
What's the stock bore on an H22? What's the max it can be resleeved to (the largest RELIABLE bore). What's the displacement if the bore's 90mm? I'm looking to building a track car and am thinking about a 4G lude w/ a resleeved H22A. Anyone have an estimated output, WHP and WTQ, of a resleeved (90mm) block, 11.5CR pistons, port n polish head, Skunk Stage2 or Jun Stage3 cam, Hitech header and 2.5" cat-back, bored throttle body (what's the max for an H22 tb?) and matchported IM? I'm thinking a built H22 would have a better TQ/weight ratio than a similarly-built B18C1 in an EK hatch even tho it's heavier (w/o sacrificing HP/weight ratio), so I'm looking into this alternative. Thanks.

stock bore size is 87 mm. you can go as high as 90 mm. with all that junk, prolly close to 210 @ the wheel and 160 lb/ft. torque.

youll want to wait for JGLuder to reply. he will have the most accurate info for you. but imo you wont be hitting 230whp with that at all..

Re: Resleeving H22 block? (illusion)
A very similar setup (84.5mm bore, 12.0CR, p&p head + throttle body + IM, custom 2.5" header and exhaust, and Jun3 cams) made 225whp on a B20-vtec. Since a 90mm bore H22 would have much more displacement, I was expecting it to beat the B20's output by at least 15whp. Thanks. I'll wait for JG to give his info too. What are the other prelude boards (I dunno them)?...maybe someone's in one of those has done a similar setup.

You should put down 210-220 to the ground with head work, springs etc. Don't think skunk makes cams. Crower or JUN or custom webcam would be your best bet.
11.5:1? With some tuning you'll be 200-220 pretty easily I would think.

Re: Resleeving H22 block? (JG Luder)
Cool, thanks! I'm still a lil baffled as to why it wouldn't make more power tho considering a similarly set up 2L VTEC motor makes 225whp. Good info on the 89mm bore!
Oh, and I spoke to Skunk2 a few weeks ago and they said that they're doing testing on the H22 cams. They estimated about late Feb or sometime in March to be the release date for the Stage1 and Stage2 cams. If they're similar to the ones they have for B-series, they should be pretty kickass!

I would think that you can make more hp as well since JDM Type S engine put out about 220hp with only a slight port/polish from the factory, and varying internals with a 11:1 CR...??
And that is not even after aftermarket parts like cam gear, exhaust, pulleys (if necessary), etc..

Re: Resleeving H22 block? (bhcvc)
i built an h22a with the following parts.. and i'm going turbo before summer and a 200 shot to hold me over until..
96 closed block jdm h22a
crower stage 2 cams, crower cam gears, crower valve springs, crower rods, je forged 10.5:1 pistons, new sleeves "not sure on the brand", port & polished head..
its going in a 94 sir ferio and i was wondering what kinda whp i could expect without a turbo.. any ideas?
