Default oil change question

i did an oil change today
im guessing the oil hasnt been changed since the swap
after how many miles is your engine used to bad oil running through it?

your engine doesn't get used to it.. what do u mean by bad oil? if you mean non-synthetic oils, by no means are they "bad" as long as they are the correct weights the oil should still do its job.

improper lubrication = friction = heat = problem

What?? Bad oil is bad oil, the engine is not going to get used to anything it's going to get worse as the oil gets worse. Change the oil ASAP if it needs it that bad.

Alright thanks i just meant old oil and i read up somewhere your engine can get a leak from new oil if its used to old oil

i put 5w-30 in it today so it should be good

Some people say that synthetic can cause seals to leak if you switch over from using dino oil for a long time, but that is just here-say for the most part. Leaking has nothing to do with how old the oil is...the older the oil is the worse it is on your engine.
