a jdm h22 is 220 hp stock and a usdm h22a with bolts on get about 179 ish
its very possible if its a jdm h22a
judges... beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep... WRONG.
JDM H22 in not 220 stock. did you mean typeS?
a regular JDM H22 has only a few hp more than the USDM. 5-7 to be exact, and we're talking about the OBD1 H22's.

and i don't think 200whp is achievable with just bolt-on's. definately need cams, a little head work would be nice as well, along with everything else you listed. that should get you there.

but i'm noticing that the h22a doen'st make as much power than B series
doesn't make as much? or doesn't make much more?
well, it may not make that much more hp, but that torque makes up for it. i personaly like B series motors, and i've had a turboed B18C1 in my CRX, but H22 will beat any B series motor mod for mod. reason? well, i'm gonna sound like a V8 guy for a moment: displacement

import builders have b20/vtec's pushing 242whp.... n/a .. i've yet to see a h22a do 242whp...

maybe the h series is not as good as b ??

removing the balance shafts will give more hp but i need to rebalance the block, so i need to buy an oilpump gear 295, then buy new rods and pistons because i need to re-balance the crank.. so 695 for god rods and then another 350$ for S pistons because i can't really afford a bord and sleeve job.. so when you take that all into consideration it will cost me about 1500US just to balance the bottom, not to mention a lightwheight flywheel to have the rotary assembly balanced... so

1800$ later i got a block that's balanced but still factory bore and factory sleeves.. will this give me power... maybe 10whp.. (from the balance shafts) will this help me gain more rev's ... maybe but not without cams and retainers etc...

so is it worth it to rev to 9000 to make power??? after all isn't a h22a a torque motor not free reving...

That's the same as "stroking" a H22 in a way. You're using a 2.0 block with a super high flowing VTEC head... that's like sticking a 2.6 stroker kit into a H22

Well I would think you might be losing a bit of HP due to the P28 since it does not open the Secondaries. Find a p72 and get a hondata, or just find a obd1 h22a ecu and chip it.

Get the head work done. SS valves, Dual springs, and TI retainers. 3 angle valve job wouldnt hurt either. Type S pistons should increase compression, and if you got some nice cams.

If you do that, you should be above 200.
the p28 dosen't control the secondaries. they're open all the time. which is good for peak hp but not good for <4000 rpm...

I can get an adjustable rpm switch if i kept the intake manifold .. but i`m not using that.....

tubular single intake runner manifold.. STR....

Haha yes this topic is super old, so at least you did have a relevant post to bump it with.

On yours, I bet a better header would give you a few more ponies, When I got rid of the ebay header I had, it helped the engine breathe much better, of course I also ported out my stock intake and went from a stock TB to a 76MM at the same time.

And just curious, chassis and trans?

well about ebay headers: "you get what you pay'd for." but its just for temporary
its 5 gen lude with stock non lsd gearbox
