if you have never done it before, i would suggest to not try it. It is a little more on the advanced side.

i would just pay him 100 to do it and not mess with it. I just put my new one this past weekend and it was a bitch. That is coming from someone who has put quite a few honda clutches in. The prelude trannies are a bitch to pull without pulling the motor. However there are a few ways to do. I did it by removing the radius rod. There is the option of pulling off the entire front support area and all the cross members to drop the tranny. It would probably be a lot easier that way. With only the radius rod pulled out, then you would have to take the tranny out and put it back in at an angle.

yea i recently finished my clutch/ flywheel install and it took me over a year! i didn't know what i was getting myself into and did this in my 2 bay garage (very cramped) with bits and pieces of tools. I had several friends help me when they could and i kept running into stripped or hard to break bolts and all with out a cherry picker, just a big jack... i'll say this, after i got it all done w/ i was very proud and excited for myself to have accomplished such a feat w/ no prior knowledge, now i confidence to do it again and to help others, but know of how much a pain it really is, or atleast with what i was working with.

yea jdmludedude has the idea...do take off the radius rod..however try to mark it accurately or else ur alignment is f'd... take off the bellbousing bolts and the mounts then have ur friend help u take the tranny out from the bottom...let him guide u from above while you break your *** on underneath...my bro has gotten damn good at it he can swap a lude tranny in about 4 hours....good luck bro

its not that big of a deal on the ground i had mine out and back in driving in about 4 hours with taking a dinner break. but that took ALOT of taking apart to get to know what exactly i have to do. in a civic i could have it out and in in about 3 hours. just make sure you have a deep socket 19 17 14 10 12, short socket 12 10 36, 11 tooth 10 17, wrench 17 12, pry bar, breaker bar im pretty sure thats it its 330am in va so im kinda tired. but anyone else if im missing anything let him know. hope that helps

I just pull the whole drive train out it's faster for me. I have no AC or power steering though and my garage has compressed air and I do this for a living. I pulled the drivetrain in 45minutes and I smoke break too much and my customers call me all the time and interrupt me. Anywyas though just pull the whole thing out it will probably be faster than doing it in the car. Hell the only thing you have to do under the car then is unbolt the down pipe and the axles have to be pulled. Just drain the radiator into a clean bucket and then put it back in or better yet change your coolant since it probbaly needs it anyways.
