Default Ride Report: All you can eat BBQ!

"The Place" is a restaurant in Ventucopa and they had an all you can eat BBQ for $10. What better reason to ride 200+ miles than to get cheap BBQ? LOL. Anyway, we were meeting other riders from ADVRider but we took a different route since we were riding our street bikes rather than our enduros. I've been riding my KLR every weekend for the past few weeks and wanted a change.

My brother Han, and friend Jo, and I met up @ Norm's in Huntington Beach for a quick lunch which turned out to be a long lunch. We got on the road super late

Han and Jo checking out his SWEET HM.

After lunch, we slabbed it north to CA-150 by lake Casitas to Ojai where another ADV member finds us gassing up.

The four of us rode up 33 where we came across a terrible accident involving a brand new CBR1000RR and a Toyota Camry. We hope the CBR's rider is OK.

We arrived @ The Place and got a quick bite to eat before setting up camp out back:

Soon, two more ADVer's show up and that's when the beer REALLY started flowing. I believe the official toll was 10 pitchers for 6 guys with some cans and bottles mixed in.

It got a little chilly overnight and we were awake well before the sleepy town of Ventucopa was. Salvation was at hand when they finally came and opened the restaurant

Gassing up before we all went our separate ways.

I really need to stop hanging out with the ADV guys. Everytime I do, I have dreams about buying a KTM 950 or 990 Adventure

I refrain from entering that forum. I can't stand to read the ride reports, without almost crying and seeing all that I'm missing, while spending my time on this ****in **** hole, not being able to just ride the world...

Looks like a fun time you had man, I wish I had some spare time to do some touring on the Monster, but lately, between my internship and Formula SAE, I barely have time to ride

Good stuff. I used to do the 150/33 every other weekend until I totaled my 600RR there

Glad you had a fun and safe and trip. And props for the camping out there!

An XR650R would be on my short list if I didn't have to worry about the California DMV recalling plates and all that BS. My only choice for a street legal bike of that caliber is the KTM 690 Enduro R which I guess I can live with :D

Open pit roast pork, home made tortillas and salsa, and all you can eat too. OMG I'm hungry :D
