help 03 honda element fan wont come when idle.
My honda element started to over heat while i was in traffic the other day and i was able to cool it down by turning on the heat. I noticed that my fan wasn't coming on while i was in idle, the fans only turn on when i have the heat or the a/c on. If the a/c or heat is on the car doesnt over heat. If i am driving normally and stuck in moving traffic my car doesnt over heat. I checked my oil and it is clean, my radiator is not leaking and is full of fluid. What can the problem be?

Since the fan only works with heat/AC, its probably a simple broken relay or fuse that runs the fan when not using HVAC. Check all your fuses and relays for anything suspicious.
If those all check out, verify that your thermostat and temp gauge work properly. If the car does not know that it is getting hot, then its not going to turn on the fan.
Good thing is that the fan actually works, so that leaves a lot of the guess work out of it.
