1st gen Crv Traction Bars
I know my cr-v is in desperate need of some traction bars. I am reading all the time how the suspension is like a civic etc etc.. Would I be able to buy ek traction bars and use those on my 1st gen cr-v?

Re: 1st gen Crv Traction Bars
idk.. problem one.. i haven't measured to see if the tow hooks are the same distance from the control arms. i do know the overall front end of the vehicle is shorter than a civic.
problem two.. the crv places the front control arm's rotational axis much lower away from the frame than that of a civic. if you use a civic traction bar, it'd likely have to be mounted low. maybe around where the factory stainless bar is.
and as for mounting it to the control arms... most traction bars mount on a through-bolt in the civic control arms. ours don't have that. maybe where the sway bar mounts.. though that seems way less than structurally ideal.
best bet is to find someone with one and eyeball it to your chassis. again, all those radius rods have to pivot with the lower arm to effectively do what they were designed and also to prevent binding which may ruin bushings or worse.
