Default Traction bar installed. Still have wheel hop.

I have bought a jimfab traction bar and installed it and when I launched I let it off easy and went for it and it wheel hopped but it was the small type and not the large jumpes it used to do. I have tokico blue and skunk 2 coilovers and the car is only lowered about an inch. Is it normal to have some wheel hop even with the traction bar and suspension?

i had the shitty lcons which broke on me but before they broke they did not hop at all just took off like a rocket, not even the slightest shudder. maybe you have hella power or maybe theres a weak link elsewhere in your suspension check strut mounts, lca bushings and the mounting bolts for the traction bars

Its normal. You just gotta work on your launching, get a better feel for it. Then it'll get better.

What size tires do you have? I'd also look at your bushings

check to see if your motor mounts have too much play.

Suspension bushings, motor mounts and tires. Check to make sure these are all good. Personal experience, with shitty tires my wheels hoped so much my radio and ashtray fell out. I got better tires and launched harder and the car just took it. No hop at all.

Tires are the key, I'm assuming you have low profile tires and of course they are going to hop. Low pros are great for autocross/cornering, but from a dead stop will hop if you laugh to hard, the stock 60 series tire is perfect for drag strip apps., tons of grip/flex.

the tirese I have right now are 205 50 15's. The tires are new and are the cooper cobra's. The motor mounts are the place racing and have almost no play. I also have a b16 with little mods but first gear it burns out even when I dont dump the clutch.

i would drop the tire pressure first and work my way from there. then if you still have wheels hop check bushings and mounts.

Try different RPM's and different launching techniques. Ride the clutch ect...

I would also suggest getting the alignment done aswell.
