Default Wheel Hop

Hey Everyone. Whenever my car loses traction the front end shakes like crazy. This is wheel hop? So how do you get rid of this? I know my car needs an alignment but was wondering if this could be caused by anything else,

Cheers,
Dan

I'm on a stock suspension. Enlighten me on this traction bar.

Cheers,

search this forums archives for traction bar and read some of the results.
you should upgrade your suspension too - stiffer springs and some good dampers.

I'm not really doing any drag racing. I would like to get into autocrossing next summer though. I am also researching for choices of aftermarket suspension but there are just so damn many options.

Cheers,
Dan

Any sugestions on springs and shocks. I get really confused when it comes to that stuff. Deffidently has to be adjustable though.

I can't wait to get into autoxing. One of my friends always goes in his WRX and it looks like so much damn fun. He does pretty damn good in them too.

Hasport or Place racing will help a little wheel hop
So will new shocks, if you are going to autocross, try KYB AGX, or Koni Yellows, or Tokico Illuminas.
Traction bars help out a lot as well, and can be useful for autocross.

Wheel hop is a bitch, especially when autocrossin!

I see alot of people using the Koni yellows. I wish they made packages with the springs and struts together that would make my life a whole lot easier. What setup is the best bang for the buck cause I don't have alot of money .

This might just be the tires losing traction/gaining traction/losing traction. Is the "wheel hop" more of a chatter? With a certain acceleration and I lose partial traction and this happens. Too slow to spin the tires, too fast to grip properly so it's stuck in between until the tires grip. Just poor driving on my part really.

<-- Shrugs.
