Squeaky alternator belt
I changed my dead alt about 3 months ago and now that its raining it squeals when I start the car (for 3-10 seconds) Should I adjust the tension? Replace the belt? Not worry?
Thanks

its nothing serious of course but id adjust the tension cause that is the most annoying noise and its good for your car to gain attention but not by the screeching sound when it starts

After you put a new belt on it will stretch out a bit. I had it get loose a few miles from my house with no tools so I had to endure the worst squeeling for the whole drive back - it sucked.
It sounds like you just need to tighten the belt a bit -- Loosen the adjustment bolt, put a pry bar in between the block and alternator, use the bar to put some pressure on the alternator and tighten the adjustment bolt. Don't make the belt too tight though - I think it is supposed to have about a half inch of deflection.
