odd ecu code ? what does this mean ?
on my 87 crx si. 1.5L FI motor, the PGM-FI light comes comes in the dash after the motor idles for a couple minutes.
I removed the seat and looked at the light on the ecu, and what i saw was rather strange.
* The ecu has 4 red L.E.D. lights on it. The middle 2 lights are solid red, the other two are not lit. *
I thought that the ecu was supposed to blink rather than have 1 - 4 lights on. - either way, im new at OBD-0 and have no idea how to read this or how to interpret it into a usable code.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
i just bought the car, but here is what has happened so far. Car drove fine, then would not start. finally would idle but die if u gave it gas.. a few days later it ran but then died while on my test drive.
I replaced fuel filter. now it runs but the PGM-FI light comes on. I have been afraid to do another road test until I know what this code is.
My clock in the dash fades in and out continuously, dont know if those could be related or not.

Re: odd ecu code ? what does this mean ? (jlicrx)
you are the man !
what I could make out were the symptoms: High idle speed during warmup, High idle speed, and Hard starting during low temperatures.
Now for the possible causes, I cannot make them out.
code 6 - EDITED
can this cause the car to die on me while driving ? or is it strictly a temperature related problem

and thats code 6 not 42. thats binary so add the lights on together. I.E. if 8 and 4 and 1 are on it's 8+4+1= 13 code 13

honestly, I didnt notice the idle being off or anything.... Could this cause me any problems with the car actually running ? Is it necessary to replace or fix the TW sensor if it is not causing any problems ?

shouldn't be a problem - try resetting the ECU and see if the code goes away - could be intermittent
