Default EF Blower/Fan Switch Replacement

Hey Guys,

I need to replace the fan switch in the EF climate control assembly. The blower motor is not blowing any more, but I ran some tests according to the Helms manual, and it says the switch is bad.

Anyways, I am looking for a good write up on how to take the fan switch out and replace it. Anybody know where I can find one? The term "fan" drives google and even the honda-tech search crazy. All I can seem to find are resistor/blower motor threads...

Thank you in advance!

Remove heater control panel. Unplug old fan switch assembly from rear of heater control panel. Install new fan switch assembly.

Its very simple to do, i did mine 2 months ago. Do u have any fan at all, like it only works on settings 1 and 2 only, or 3 and 4 only?

It used to work on 1 2 and 3, but it stopped working altogether last week. I hardwired the fan and it ran, then checked the resistor. So next step is the switch. I hope to get to this tomorrow.

Ok, the switch is easy to do, i had the most trouble getting the connector off the switch... While u are doing the switch, u might want to change any burned out instrument panel bulbs

Hey everyone thanks for the help. I did it a few weeks ago, and it was much easier than I expected. I practiced at the junkyard when I got the new switch too, which helped!

Try doing what I did, take a gutted 89 and COMPLETELY reinstall the HVAC. Sucks.

Pahaha that would be a huge learning lesson. I took the ac system out of my CRX when I was in high school. It was all there but it did not work and I was young and naive enough to take it to a shop and pay 500 dollars for them to jerk me around a few times. Then I did a mini-me and tore the ac out. Biggest regret ever... Haha
