CRX Water Leak
Yes this has been discussed, alot...
I've searched and read through most of the posts but everyone seems to have a leak that results in puddles in the spare tire area...
Well my puddle is mainly right behind the drivers seat, and it can get about a foot deep (water level all the way up to the back cargo area)
I sprayed some water on the roof of the car and the only place i could really see it coming from was the back hatch struts like everyone is saying so im going to get some sealant and try to patch up a few spots today, but has anyone had their leak result in puddles behind the drivers seat? Also im looking for some clarity on why the rear sprayer would cause a leak into the car??

Re: CRX Water Leak (CRX Toad)
yeah sounds like your hatch. If you have a dying paint job like mine and dont care.... run it throw an automated car wash you'll see the water come in when the brushes go over the hatch.

Re: CRX Water Leak (acmoc)
Simple.
Close the hatch. Take a broad, flat tipped screw driver. Pry up the (should be) black strips that run from the windshield across the roof to the hatch. Start from the back, where the hatch meets the body. You only have to pry about half way up (starting from the back of the car). Por-15 or black RTV Gasket after cleaning those channels/valleys out... you'll see the seam sealer is cracked. When it leaks from there, it follows the body/head down to the hatch struts, but sometimes diverts and drops off behind the driver (and passenger, if that side is bad too) seats.

I too had water in the spare tire well and could not figure it out. Turned out the drain from the sunroof had pulled out of the little hole which sends it out the rear quarter panel and was shooting all the water right in the car. It was a PITA to figure out. Had to strip all the interior to find the problem.

a few possibilities here....
1) the rear washer squiter thing (if you have it, if not ignore)
2) the 2 roof welds under the rubber seals have hairline cracks in them (very common, can happen to any model, silicon them or redo with body filler and paint)
3) hatch hinges seam sealer may have hairline cracks
4) also the sunroof drains can get clogged, which can cause all kinds of problems involving water.
5) bad taillight gasket seal (you can spot this one if you see streaks or dirt coming from the tailights bolts inside the car)
some of those may not apply depending on the cars trim level, which you didnt specify.
if you cant figure out where its coming from, try this:
the weathers nice, so remove the rear interior, its just a bunch of plastic pieces mostly held in by philips heads, just go slow and save the screws!
lock yourself inside the rear hatch, and have a sybling/wife/brother/girlfriend/whatever spray the car with a garden hose for 10 minutes all around the car.
youll find your leak.
