'91 Civic - blower fan not working
So last night, my fan that blows a/c and heat stopped blowing, it's done it once before but I punched the dash real hard once and it turned back on, hasn't done it again until last night. I've taken the dash off and checked around the box and can't really figure anything out, and I don't want to take it apart since i'm not very familiar with it, i've also checked the 30A fuse for the blower motor and its fine.
I was wondering if this is the "motor" to turn the fan, and i'm wondering if it can be replaced easily.
I installed the non a/c duct a few months ago, could this have any effect on the motor?
Thanks for any help!

you might want to check the resistor too.you can see it with the glove box removed.i checked it first on my car but it did turn out to be a bad motor.mine would work if you pulled on the wire coming from the motor.bad brushes i guess.

And about the motor, is it something universal like I could buy at Advance Auto/O Reiley's/etc, or order it from Honda?

you should be able to buy it from a autoparts store. but check to see if your getting power to it first before you buy a new one.

Even if the resistor is bad,It should still work on high..
If it is the motor/brushes worn out,You can tap on the silver area on the bottom of the motor and it will sometimes start working again..
I replaced mine through Honda and it was Very expensive...
I would go aftermarket if I had to do it again..

For the fan to run,you will need power and ground:
The blue/white should be 12v+ with the ignition switch on/fan switch on high
and the blue/black should be the ground..
I have seen the ground wire burn up under the dash
but it sounds like your motor is worn out....

tap on the blower with the car on.if it turns on,means your blower is dyin.replace it now that you have the dash off.or wired it to the battery to seeif it turns.good luck.i would replace it.theres plenty of ef in the junk yard here in jersey..
