Vacuum leak, brakes acting up? HELP!!!
I have had a vacuum leak going on 6 months now. I have tried everything you can think of, read every thread about this. I have cleaned everything on the intake manifold, replaced every gasket and checked everywhere for vacuum leaks and hoses, and although the car runs better, the vacuum leak is still there!!! I read somewhere that brake booster can cause a vacuum leak. Does anybody know if this is true, or had a similar experience? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Vacuum leak, brakes acting up? HELP!!!
if your brake booster is leaking or not working correctly u should notice that your braking effort is harder/more difficult..the purpose of the brake booster is to make it easier to brake..it gives you assist in braking..so if its not working or has a leak you will have to push the pedal harder to stop the car

Start the engine and spray the parts with carb cleaner. When the engine revs, thats the part thats leaking.
Check/replace all the hoses too.

Sounds like a bad brake booster. To verify, plug the brake booster nozzle on the IM to show that the vacuum leak is eliminated.

Follow the brake booster hose to the IM and disconnect it there. Block the IM nozzle hole with anything that will completely prevent air flow but won't get sucked into the IM. Start the engine and let it idle. If a leaking brake booster is causing your idle problem, then blocking the nozzle should return the idle to normal.
