Super low RPM reading. Cluster swap help.
I have a stock 95 Civic cx (cluster has no RPM reading). Just bought a cluster from a dx hatch with rpm reading. I swapped it out. Problem is that the rpm needle doesn't seem to be following the engine's actual rpm. For example, at 40 mph in second gear, the cluster only reads a little over 3k rpm when it feels and hears like it's close to redlining. I'm not sure if transmission gearing on the cx is that much different from the other models but it's bothering the hell out of me. Can anyone tell me what is wrong? Any input greatly appreciated as the sole reason I bought the cluster in the first place was for the rpm tach.

Re: Super low RPM reading. Cluster swap help. (quant)
from the same gen. civic, it will have the same RPM reading. even when u swapped it with EG6's one, it will automatically give the same RPM reading.
maybe the cluster is faulty? or the speed sensor maybe?
