Default Stereo Removal

I've got a 1997 Civic LX. When I bought the car, stereo didn't come with A faceplate. Now I need to know how to get the stereo out so I can see what model number it is so I could order a replacement faceplate...how the crap do I remove it!?!?

Pull that plastic ring that goes around the head unit off. it's held on by tiny plactic tabs with a lil hook on the end. you see those lil indents on the left and right of the head unit in the middle? looks like something a lil thinner than a popcicle stick can fit in there. get a small thin screwdriver and slip one on eachside in there, push the left screwdriver left and the right one right and wiggle it out.

he doens't have to pull the plastic ring assumign the previous owner pushed down the metal tabs to lock that in place.

From that pic. get 2 zip ties and 2 hooks. slide the zip ties in on the sides of the radio and just keep pushing. use the 2 hooks to pull the radio towards you. it should come out.
