Ok so i have a gsr that i was gonna do a headgasket on. As i went in to remove the last arp head bolt. It stripped on me!?? So i need some info asap on how to get this out. The nut is totally rounded. Tried 2 forms of easy out, drilling, and hammering in a socket thats a size smaller to bite onto the rounded nut, and i used the allen wrench or hex socket and stripped that part of the bolt itself also. sadly nothing works and its a tight space. Any advice?? Thanks.

Maybe filing a a nice groove in it and using a flathead? Pound a chisel underneath the bolt head?

I was thinking of that also but doing it from the top and making look like a flat screw but it might not work due to the bolt being torqued down. Dam its so hard.

You may be able to drill the head off the bolt and slide the head off the block and you should be able to get at the bolt easier.

have you tried a socket for removing stripped bolts? (an actual bolt out set)

Yeah i tried that. Didnt work. I melted all my drill bits trying to drill this thing out

Take a picture, easier for use to gauge on what to use.

If you used a cutting wheel to put a slit in the head for a flathead screw driver, you could use a screw driver made for a ratchet. That would alleviate your concerns about torque. Worst case scenario it snaps off the head, then you can just pull the head off and use a stud remover.

I've had good success with the Lisle stuck bolt, nut & stud remover tool. However, never use it on a head bolt.

I have a full set of these and they work GREAT!!!! Definite must for working on cars with rusted to f*ck nuts and bolts. Also good if you don't know how to use tools and strip bolts a lot. Haha.

Im sorry but how did you strip a 12pt nut?

Buy a cheap *** extension and weld the extension to the bolt head (not one long weld bead, but small numerous ones (keeps heat down)) - problem solved. Just make sure you put a wet rag around the head while welding to keep the heat down. Let it cool naturally (the bolt/weld) - cool to the touch - before attempting to remove.

I honestly have no clue?? Just tried loosing it with a 12better point 13mm socket and it rounded off

Its ARP. Thats what size mine are in my B18C5. And my ARP rod bolts were standard size also.
