Lost A Constant 12 Volt ?? Someone PLEASE HELP With Wiring
ok so heres the story .. i was stupid and wired a gauge into my radio's wiring harness. it used a constant 12 volt (for memory) a switched 12 volt and a ground. got all done turned the key and the radio and gauge did not turn on. so i freaked unwired and left the gauge unwired and wired up the radio like it was before i had my brain storm to see if it would work still and still no radio. and it seems that my clock got really dim for some reason. i used a fuse tester and all fuses are good and i also used the fuse tester and tested the wires in the radio's harness. it seems the constant 12 volt is dead. the switched one still reads when the key is turned like normal but the constant 12 volt is dead.. ANY IDEAS what might have caused this ?? PLEASE help

is it an aftermarket radio?? cuz if it is it might have a fuse in the back of it too....
you said that you had looked and all the fuses are good. so the only other reason that you would not get 12volts on your power wire would be #1 a bad ground, maybe you pulled it off or just loosed it just enough that its not grounded to the car anymore??? #2 is that you jacked your power wire when you tried to split it off for your gauge, or loosed it from your fuse box just enough that your not getting power anymore????
i don't know why you would wire a gauge to your wire harness of you radio, all you had to do is test which fuse in your fuse box allways has a hot 12 volts to it and wire it in there, or right to the batt
good luck with that though

maybe where you spliced it the wire got messed up or something? i would replace the fuse just to see cause thats what it sounds like. you know you can get a constant and switch 12v from right off the fuse box under the dash theres a few male plugs youll see.
