Interior lights not working now!
Now I have more odd ball issues. My interior lights dont turn on when I open the door but do if I manually switch it. Both doors nothing. Ok and now my dash lights have quit working and give no beeping sound when I open the door with lights on. I have no fuse panel cover to check which fuse is which so any help on this guys? Could the switch have gone bad on the steering column? And with lights when door open issue im completely lost.

You don't need to know which fuse it is if its a blown fuse causing it. Just check for blown fuses visually or with test tool, if you find a blown fuse replace it and see what if anything changes

Do you have the owners manual? the fuse list is in there.
As for the radio, did you use a "t" harness? This harness you need to leave the orig factory radio installed in the lower dash.

Harness ground got knocked loose maybe? Or pinched and broken loose when pushing new stereo into place, causing a shor across common ground? Intermitent ground could easily cause these issues

Disconnect your radio and wiring harness and see if that fixes your problem. If everything works normal with it out, then you know where the problem is coming from.

So I need to reinstall the old radio and see if the lights start working again? And perhaps anyone know what color the ground wire is for this?

You need a T harness.......where did you get the harness? Did you use a harness to install?
Tell me you did not cut off the original stock plug did you?

Re: Interior lights not working now!
wife's civic has no interior lights (unless you move the switch to 'on', 'door' is as good as 'off') since I installed a stereo there. I used the best buy wiring kit and stuff, whatever they had. It plugged into the factory wire harness, and I just had to match wires to the 'plug with wires hanging off of it' that plugs into the back of the radio and ties into the factory harness (or adapter how I have it set up).
Would it be possible to run a new ground for the courtesy lamps/door open lights?

Re: Interior lights not working now!
This is the only green plug I have is it the correct one?
Also fixed the dash lights blown fuse. No idea what shorted out to pop it though.

Re: Interior lights not working now!
Been a long time, I think the green plug stays in the original radio, it is used for the security alarm add on.
Follow the links I gave you. You need that special harness to make the dome light work and keyless entry.

Re: Interior lights not working now!
Where do you get your information? All the OP needs to do is jump the plug (as mentioned) and to check fuse 30.

Re: Interior lights not working now!
Plug the keyless connector (green I believe) into the rear of the stock radio. This will solve your ceiling light problem, and buying a 96-98 remote will allow you to lock and unlock the doors remotely. For your other problems (no dash lights and chime), replacing blown fuse 30 should solve them.
