Hey guys, I'm swapping in rear integra disc brakes tomorrow and would like to just clarify that the only flare wrench to use is a 10mm.

Is that correct? what about the soft lines do I use a normal wrench for those or do I still use the flare wrench?

Use a flare wrench for ALL brake line/valve fittings... it's the safest way to go!

I'd use a flare wrench on all of the lines just to make sure you don't strip them..

10mm.

Without the flare wrench you will learn the hard way and find out that with regualar open wrenches actually strip the lines!

I used a flared wrench for the soft line. Then attempting to remove the prop valve, it started stripping. I used a closed end to bleed the line though cuz the flared wrench started to free spin.

ok but on the MC/BB/prop valve I'm gussing the flare wrench size is 10mm correct? any ideas what the size is for the flex brake lines? Just wanting to know so I can buy the wrenches before I begin

They should all be 10mm.

it is still possible to round off a fitting with a flare nut wrench... it happened to me and it wasn't because I was using the wrong size wrench either

put some penetrating oil on there and make sure all the undercoating is cleaned off of the fittings before you start wrenching on them

all mine were 10mm, but i've never seen a 10mm flared nut wrench that didn't have a 12mm on the other side.

Should be good enough since I would not expect the lines to be torqued to 80ft/lbs.

Any tips for removing the brake system?
