Door wiring harness
Anyone know any replacement for this door harness?
I could go to the junkyard and get a harness from a another civic but what if i just rewire the whole thing with butt connector and run them through the hole of the door. Any disadvantages to doing that?
Thanks,
Terry

You only have 2 choices to make. Don't understand why this question was even asked. Find a replacement or splice wires. What do you think is the disadvantage of not having an easy means of disconnecting wires?

Re: Door wiring harness
I don't care about easy way of disconnecting the wires.
I though that if I just splice the wires together and run it through the door they might get scraped or break off. If that's not the case I would do this.
I'm hesitant of splicing all the wire together without a harness because I haven't seen anyone do it. I've been doing research on this forum and google to find an alternative but it seems like everyone goes with the used harness route. So I thought there was probably a reason why people haven't bypass the harness. But if the only disadvantage is easy disconnection of the wire I don't mind that.
I can even buy a generics 16 wire male/female connector and modify it to work if that's the case.
Thanks for the response grumble.

Re: Door wiring harness
The reason why people tend to go the replacement harness route is that will remain STOCK. Hacked wires are hacked wires no matter how you look at it and one of the FIRST things to let people know that you don't respect your car. BUt it's your car. Do what you like.
