Default D15B7 (92-95 DX) Interference Motor?

Does anyone know for sure whether or not the D15B7 is an interference motor? My friend's timing belt broke, and I don't think he bent any valves because I don't think it's an interference motor, but I want to check to make sure.

I'm having trouble with a similar situation, I just replaced the timing belt in a D15B7 but now it won't turn over just hear a loud noise from the starter. I'm wondering if I have a bad camshaft now..... Any suggestions?

almost a 5 year old thread hahaha. the worst part is that it's gonna take 5 years to answer the OP's question.

Yes the d15b7 is an interference motor. If your timing belt broke, or even skipped teeth, there is a very good chance you tanked the motor.

However, i have seen people get freakishly lucky, reinstall a new timing belt and be good to go.

bettatrap, what is the story? did yours break or were you doing just a maintainence service?

DaX's last activity was in mid July, so there's some chance that he might finally get this crucial information.

Haha, poor sap. Lots of Hondas are interferance engines.

I have some good valves and a cam I pulled out of my D15B7 before taking it to the scrap yard. Let me know if you'd like either. Otherwise I'm going to make something out of the cam, like a table...if I can find 2 or 3 more...

no no, it's a good thing. we didn't have to tell you to search n00b!

the best thing for you to do is get a new timing belt, put it on correctly and see what happens. if the motor is junk, atleast you have a new timing belt to put on your replacement motor, to avoid this situation again.

Had a belt snap at around 50mph on my d15b7. Replaced it and everything has been fine. Before this I had a the end of the crank snout break off and used some Loctite 660 Quick Metal to mend it back together and that's been fine too (=
