every may and june its windy season hear in the desert......there for my civics paint job along with my carbon fiber hood a head lights are all pitted from the sand storms for the past three years....so i wanna claim sand blast damage to my insurance....they will pay for my new paint job!!!!!....what i was wondering was if my monthly insurance rate will go up????

I think it depends on your ins company. My rate only goes up for claims having to do with accidents or tickets. No increase if act of nature or vandelizm (I know my spelling sucks) call your ins and ask the agent they should be able to tell you.

I think for most insurance companies in most states, a comprehensive claim will not (should not) raise your rates.

that coverage may go in the "others" category. i'm sure they can fabricate an insurance plan just right for you...however - fabricate = expensive.

im sure all companys are different... ive never even heard heard of sand damage on the east coast. if this works for you im gonna try to claim salt damage from all the snow this season,,, i could go for some german paint as well.

I think for most insurance companies in most states, a comprehensive claim will not (should not) raise your rates.
Just a thought: It is probably a good idea to file a comprehensive claim every once in a while. If you think about it, you pay all that money, and for the most part most people don't total their cars every time they get in an accident. Therefore, the insurance company uses YOUR money to make more money for themselves.
