00 civic ex - What engine?

so my car is a 2000 civic ex 5spd manual. The valve cover reads "HONDA" and thats it. block says D16Y? (cant read last number/letter) and my friend believes it may still be a vtec model because of some valve or something (idk how he explained it). Does anyone know if its a vtec engine or not? help me out?

Need the last number on the block but you can also google what a vtec solenoid looks like, and see if you have one.

Bingo. Just look for the Vtec solenoid, it should be located on the head and it will be facing the firewall unlike a bseries which faces passenger side of the car. Hope that wasn't too confusing. when in doubt just google it, you should be able to figure it out that way.
Also if its the stock engine its for sure a single cam vtec, EX models came with the d16y8 or the y7
