South Bend is about 95% ghetto.

It's kinda rough especially down areas like Sample St. for instance, but nothing compared to places like Gary or parts of Indy... Michigan City has worse parts than South Bend. Meh, either way, it still sucks you can't have anything nice without fools being tools.

My 2013 is alarmed and lo-jacked. Have not had any attempts yet, and I park on the street. 13 months of ownership so far.

I had no attempts on my 2013 Si either and owned mine for longer than that... it all comes down to how much exposure you give and that one person with the desire and guts/stupidity to act on their thoughts.

If they can't find it it's harder to steal. Hell, I wish someone would have stole my POS '13 Si... would have came out money ahead (bought it new).

I would come ahead as well. I get 20% over purchase price thanks USAA insurance.

I don't really have any real ghetto areas near me, but I have driven through shanty towns, but I doubt Mexicans are into daylight car jacking. That seems to the interest of another group, that likely learned that doing that in AZ is like Russian Roulette with 5 rounds instead of 1. Odds are you will get shot, because everyone here is armed.

Broad daylight robbery seems common here in the south of Lousiana. But yes my old neighbor's are arming up for anything now.

You can't... you can utilize components that allow the vehicle with an immobilizer to start without they key, provided the encryption has been cracked for the vehicle by companies like iDataLink (aftermarket alarm/remote start), but unless the vehicle has the key, once it's moved out of park/neutral, it'll die.

Like others have said, people will steal anything, including a can of Spam.
