you can either go aftermarket or get stock CRV or TSX pistons and rods

not sure whitch k24 ur talking about but if its the one outa the tsx it fits with no probs at all. and it would not boast much gains ur just buliding a normal k24. the head of the k20z3 and the head off the TSK k24 are exactly the same the part numbers are the same.

if its a k24a4 from an accord or element then YES you still do need diff. pistons and rods..the pistons in the A4 motors has a raised piston which will have pistons to valve contact if not changed out...the TSX and CRV has the same style piston which WILL not have pistons to valve contact if a k20 head was put on it so you can either use TSX pistons and rods or CRV pistons and rods or go aftermarket..just make sure u change out the pistons n rods on the A4 block

quick question. might be kind of off topic but does anyone know if it's possible to swap a k20a3 head onto the k20a2. like put a type s head onto a non type s rsx or the ep3 si.

your talking about 2 diff. things right there..first u asking if you can put a k20a3 head( NON TYPE S) on a k20a2 block(TYPE S) and then your asking if you can put a k20a2 head on a k20a3 block..i would say that it wont make alot of diff. if you were to try the head swap...if you going to bother with a type s head swap, u might as well find a cheap k24a4 short block and which out the internals for a CRV or TSX and bolt on the k20a2 head and you got urself a nice decent motor which will make some nice power even tho its stock

I read about mating a type s head to a k24 block but not sure about the si head of how much different it is but check out this article in hondatuningmagazine.com on this 95 gs-r built by Loi Song of Sportcar motion, heres the starting title...

dont think you will make much of a diff. if you were to mate a type s head to a EP block..you can try it and tell us how much power you made tho..most ppl just mate the head on a k24 block and come out with some really nice power...go to k20a.org for alot of info on the k series

you can put a type s head on a ep block with no problems. You would have to check piston to valve clearance to make sure that you don't touch.
