Hi,
My name is Khiri from the Western Massachusetts area. I recently purchased a 2010 si in May. So this is my introduction post and i also already need a clutch so i was hoping for suggestions. I was looking at the basic OEM Exedy clutch that Advanced Auto Parts sell for like $350. Would that be a suitable clutch for my si? One of my friends suggested that i get a stage 2 clutch, but i feel like they're just more of a pain in the **** as daily driver. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

For a stock Si, I'd say Honda OE or equivalent unless you plan on modifying beyond the usual bolt-ons.

My 2007 Si I bought from my factory trained mechanic friend already had the clutch pedal replaced due to the competition clutch stage 2 pressure plate and clutch disk. I've gotten used to the stiffer feel and daily driving isn't too bad but I still need to swap the push rod from my MC and put it onto the em1 SiR MC I bought. I've read it's a better upgrade that isn't so harsh on the clutch pedal over the Hybrid Racing MC.
Really though, sticking to the Exedy Stage 1 (OEM equivalent) clutch kit will give you solid daily driving and be easier on all your components.
Do a little google searching on MC upgrade and also on clutch pedal reinforcement for 2006-2011 Honda Civic Si and you will likely come across a fair amount of information about all of this.
The other upgrade for these Si's besides Hondata Flash Pro is the Hybrid Racing Timing Chain Tensioner. It's my understanding it's a necessity if you upgrade your cams, valve springs and retainers. I've been thinking about doing the tensioner anyway even though the motor itself is still stock just for the peace of mind of a superior designed tensioner.

I'm not sure if anyone else has run anything other than Honda MTF in their gear box. It would be interesting to see some feedback.
Today I drained out the Honda MTF from my gear box and I added half a tube of Molyslip Manual Transmission Additive (molybdenum) and GM Synchromesh Friction Modified.
The shifting is much smoother even in high rpm (8000+) shifts. I'm curious to know if the molybdenum is helpful for carbon synchros like it is for metal (brass, steel, aluminum, etc).
I would use Torco MTF but getting it here is a bit expensive and time consuming. I've had great success with GM Synchromesh Friction Modified with Molyslip manual additive but usually in the older manual trannies with brass synchros. Also I can get GM's fluid at any GM dealership so access is easy and quick.

Try checking out rockauto.com see if they have a clutch for you and if they do, I am pretty sure it'll be at a decent price. You may also want to consider a new flywheel or having your current one resurfaced.

So, I recently just bought my very own 06 Civic ex coupe and I absolutely love it! It's very clean and all stock which is perfectly fine for right now but I was looking for any&all input or advice on what I can do to tune it up a bit, maybe put a little pep in her step, and help it to just drive better all around without going all out with turbo and stuff. It's definitely something I may like to do in the future but for right now I was just trying to give it a little love and looking for some direction on where to start!? I'm also looking for some ideas on interior, nothing over the top but everything is beige and I was looking to add some color to it or should I leave it as is? I was thinking maybe black floor mats or something but wanted to get some opinions!?

Hey Guys, I was just thinking about something and I wasn't sure so I came to my favorite forum to ask this: So I have been wondering "If I were to get XK Glow RGB LED Bulbs for my 8th Gen Civic would the RGB lights still work as DRL's during the day

Since it is an Ex Coupe one thing I would recommend if you have the money go with skunk 2 Exhaust or skunk2 muffler would be the cheaper route
or maybe even a cold air intake @Civic-chick06

So I bought a 2011 si coupe about 2 months ago as my new daily, the car is bone stock and definitely the best upgrade from my 04 ex. I have been noticing that sometimes when I change from 2nd gear to 3rd sometimes it pops right back out to neutral. Is it me not shifting properly or it's a common issue? This happened about 4-5 times since I got the car. Also wanted to see if you guys recommend me changing the transmission oil, my car is at 84k. Thank you guys in advance.

I have problem with my Honda civic 8th gen 2009 year . Somebody crashed in my driver door and and i bounced to some metal thing with passanger side door. At first the engine went on for a second after crash and then died and have never started after that. All the lights go on but the dash and headlight start twinkling when i try to start it. Engine didnt get hit , wheels look normal and i dont know what it could be.

Looking at a buying a 2007 civic si car was swapped to a k20z3 person I plan on purchasing the car says it has forged internals and a bigger cam he claims 270hp didn’t specify at crank or the wheels but either way is this a realistic number for all motor if he is meaning to the wheels?

Hello fellow Honda enthusiast, I’m new, have an 08 civic that I’ve been working on, a few light mods, some basic maintenance and driving it daily so far. Looking forward to learning a lot and building some cool rides.
