'05 Civic w/1.7L engine - Help with oil pan removal
OK - I've got another question: I can't get the oil pan to come loose!!! I've got everything out of the way, all the nuts and bolts out, but it looks like there's no gasket, but instead something similar to RTV was used from the factory. I saw on another thread that the factory uses something like this. And the only way to get the pan loose is to pry it off. I've tried that, but it just seems like it is taking too much power to get it loose and I'm afraid of bending, or worse yet, breaking the only "ear" I can get the pry bar under to pry against. I could sure use some advice on this one. I just don't want to screw anything up by being too heavy handed.
Thanks, in advance.

Re: '05 Civic w/1.7L engine - Help with oil pan removal
Well, never mind. I got it out, and without breaking anything. YEA !!!! I pulled 2 of the connecting rod caps off, so far, and the bearings are obviously toast. Anybody have a good source for ordering the standard sized bearings? The crank looks excellent, so far, so don't think I need anything but the standard rod bearings. Hopefully, the wrist-pins are good, otherwise it's going to be a PITA to pull the top of the engine off to pull the pistons. Any-hoo, one step at a time.
