I just finished a head gasket and now my accelerator pedal is stiff. At first it idled high, that went away. Now it's just stiff. I took the intake off without disconnecting the cables, just set it to the side. It went back in same as I took it out. The cables aren't twisted. Just not sure what would cause it to be stiff.

A lot of times a stiff pedal is due to buildup in the throttlebody- on the plate and in the throat.

If cleaning the throttle body/plate does not help, you may need a new throttle cable. I had an Odyssey that had a sticking cable and no amount of greasing/lubing that cable did anything permanently. I had to replace the cable.

I cleaned out the throttle body and it's not as stiff anymore. The goo that builds up made it stick a bit. Thanks for the help.
