2005 Civic Ex, Location/Replacement of Knock Sensor
I need to replace the knock sensor on a 2005 Civic Ex, 1.7L, Manual 5speed, 2dr. Anybody know where it is located and what I have to do to change it? Anything I need to do after I change it, like do some kind of code reset? Thanks. Ralph

Unless you're crafty, you'll need to remove the intake manifold to replace the knock sensor. (someone here said you can reach it from beneath the car, but I cannot verify this since I haven't looked)
Torque spec is 16 ft-lbs.
You can just disconnect the battery before you even get started. (I would)

can be reached from under the vechicle... remove the oil filter for a little more room, it's just slightly above it and too the left by the coolant tube and the plug is attached too a small bracket located by the timing cover it's a tight squeeze but it's not too hard too do

Yeah, it's a bit of a pain to get to from underneath but, I'd rather do that than take off the intake mani.
