Last week when I was driving home on the freeway, my speedometer dropped to zero, and then starting going all bizerk. After a minute or so of doing this, my check engine popped on as well.

Now when driving, sometimes it works, sometimes it stays at zero. I've went to a couple places (autozone, pepboys...) to see if they can hook it up and test it, but they said they can't/don't do that anymore. So I'm guessing that my speed sensors need to be replaced, but my question is...

How many speed sensors does my accord have? I have a 96 Accord LX. And anyone have any idea why it may have just randomly done that?




P.S. Sorry if this has been discussed. I HATE using the god awful search engine.

on the obd2 cars when the speed sensor is bad it automatically pops the check engine light check ur connections to the sensors if everything looks good then try cleaning with electrical partscleaner if that dont work then your going to have to replace the sensor its about 80 bucks .and your car only has one takes about 10 minutes to replace . they go out after time mu got to think your car is about 13 years old its problaby got over 150000 miles something is going to give out
