Default 1994 Honda accord a rough start

Hey guys I have a 1994 Honda accord Ex, recently I drove about 500 miles back n forth from Savanna to Atlanta. After the trip the next morning when I try to start my car, it started to sputter like a misfiring and then the Engine light lead up the sound become normal, and I have tried a couple of times it did the same thing.

This is what I did so far.

*Changed spark plug and wires
*Changed oil and fuel filter
*Air Filter
*I cleaned the intake with a car chock cleaner, and tried starting fluid which actually worsen it.

I am just a kind of lost what it could?

I've just recently started having the same problem with my 96 ek coupe. My light came on, and the code said spark plus, but I changed them with no improvement. Now I'm going to try cleaning the IACV (idle air control valve). If it works, I will let you know, but if you find any other solutions, I would like to know as well.

Advanced Auto Parts or Autozone should be able to check it for you for free. My Advanced auto actually resets it for me as well.

All you need is a paper clip or piece of wire to jump the ends of the service connector......turn the key to on and count the flashes from the CEL and D4 on the dash.

What is the actual code you are getting? Don't get "their" description of the issue, get the actaul code numbers - "P" and four digits.....P1399 or something like that.
EDIT: your 96 should still have the same service connector, just the OBD-II codes are a better description of the issue. In a pinch you can get them using the same method.

I will definitely, but somebody also told me that it could the crankshaft position sensor, and that son of God is not cheap.

So I cleaned my throttle body and idle air control valve. The first startup was smooth, and it had a higher idle that felt better. After a minute or two, I turned it off and let it sit before starting it up again about 5 minutes later. On the second startup, and every startup after, it was back to the regular hesitant and jumpy startup.

As for the code, my CEL hasn't come back on yet.

Get the codes....please. Also for you, these are in the dist. So if it is bad you need a new/rebuilt/Junkyard dirstributor.

The codes will come back. When they do, get the actual code. BTW, there isn't a code for "spark plugs", so again the reason to get the actual code and not the "parts store" description of the issue.
