inner tie rod and boot clamps
How do you remove the inner tie rod from the steeing shaft? It looks like they have bent washer over the end of the tire rod nut also how to remove the clamps that hold the boot to the inner tie rod? 97 accord 4dr lx

cut the clamp with a pair of dykes and use a hammer and blunt chisel to straighten the bent washer and buy a new one of those too, it should come with the new inner tie rod.
EDIT
Just buy a new steering boot too, they tear over time, no need to do this part of the job twice, it should come with new clamps or a clamp and o ring. Are you going to get an alignment afterwards or did you mark the position of the outer tie rod and count the turns during disassembly.

Thanks I counted the turns used zip ties for the clamps and changes the boot. I thought there was a way to save the clamps. Again thanks for your help

both of my boots are torn, so i need to replace them. Should I replace the inner rods as well. How can I tell if they need to be replaced on a 95 ex? Is there anything that could leak out?

Re: inner tie rod and boot clamps (jb.)
The inner accordian boot is just a dust boot, when the steering rack seal leaks, the power steering fluid deteriorates the boot and IS the cause of the boot to break. Just change the boots and put grease were needed. Burp the outer tie rod boot so it is not full of air when it gets compressed during installation, it may pop like a balloon later (soon).
