Ignition Problem...
I am new here so please go easy on me if I screw up...I actually have two questions.
I have a '98 accord ex. For the past few months, I have been having trouble when I start my car. If I do a cold start I have no problem. THe RPM needle jerks up high and then settles down until the car is warmed up. If I do a warm start however, the engine dies. The RPM needle jumps up like it should and then starts its descent to 0. The car just stalls. If I restart from there it goes but sometimes it hesitates and then runs smooth. I have had it tuned up 3 months ago. I don't know what the problem is. I also took my car to the dealer for the recall on the ignition switch and they replaced it.
Also another question is, when it is really cold, my brake indicator is on when I start the car. As I drive along, it starts goin on and off until it turns off completely. Could this just be because its so cold?... Never happens when its warmer than 32 degrees?
If you need any other info please ask.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply.
As I have stated in my problem, I have already been in to my dealer for the install of the replacement ignition switch. So that can't be the problem. It must be something else.

The ignition problem sounds like main relay, when those go out they usually have problems when hot . The brake light problem sounds like that rubber bubble on the brake fluid cap, open the cap and make sure that rubber piece is sitting correctly.

Re: Ignition Problem... (Jago)
I have not touched the battery lately. Do you think its time for me to replace it?...
I don't think its the battery. Also you are asking if I have tinkered with it, the answer is also no.

I just asked because after disconecting the power you have
to let the computer re-learn the correct idle not doing this
can cause the car to die when it's warm. It sounds like
you have a screwy ignition componet.

Should I take this to the dealer to look at or can I just go to my mechanic.
Would something like this need a Honda tech?
