Honda Accord 1993 EX - Crank No Start
I am having a problem with my Honda Accord 1993 cranking but not starting. Here is what I did in the following order:
Thank you,
Sharaaz
- Replaced a bad o-ring in the distributor. I marked the spot where the distributor aligned with the engine so I would not lose the timing.I put the distributor back, it failed to start. I checked the distributor and it had some oil on the distributor cap.
- Installed a new distributor cap. No start.
- Replaced the rotor in the distributor. No start.
- Replaced the distributor. No start. I was getting spark on all the wires to the spark-plugs, though.
- Replaced the wire in case there was a weak signal. No start.
- Replaced the spark plugs. No start.
- Put my ear to the gas tank inlet and switch the ignition to the ON position. I can hear the slight whiz sound of the fuel pump.
- Opened the nut near the fuel injection to see if fuel rushes out if I turn the ignition to the ON position. Fuel sprayed out fine.
Thank you,
Sharaaz

No check engine light?
Did you put the wires on the proper way for a firing order?
Does it crank over and just does not start?

You know, I didn't even realize there was an order of fire. I will try that and post. Check engine light is not on. It cranks over but doesn't start. As you can tell, I am a layman do-it-yourself guy.
Thanks for the tip.
