I own a 92 Accord LX 4dr, and my car had a large rust hole that has formed on the firewall on the driveside near the wiper motor from all that salt water it sees during the winter. Basically every time water runs down my windshield and drains through the long slit in between the hood and the windshield the water comes inside the car and runs down the firewall in behind my dashboard. Now my mechanic tryed to get to it from the engine bay and fill it with mono filler but it still leaks and he said he would have to remove my dashboard at a cost of 400$ to fix it. I'm just curious if anyone has had this type of problem before or if they have removed the dashboard and how hard is it?

Try finding the source of the problem yourself.
Remove the wipers (14mm screws I think), remove the clips/screws for the dash cow (black plastic piece between windshield and hood), and check it for yourself.
If the area is rusted out, you could use a grinder and grind it to bare metal. Do a "patch", let it dry, and put some "undercoating" spray to make sure nothing gets through that bare metal.

Yeah my mechanic said the hole is around the wiper motor, I'm going to try and take a look at it myself. I'm just trying to save myself 400$, and also find out if anyone has had a similiar experience of problems
