headlight wiring
What's up? I just joined.
I have a 96 accord coupe and i just installed the jdm lookalike headlights from autodynamic. The setup converts low beam from 9006 to H4 and high beam from 9005 to H1. The new H4 low beam bulb also has a high beam filament that isn't activated with this set up. My question is: Can I splice/wire the high beam to the low beam so that when i hit my beams the high on the H1 and H4 will light? Is there any risk/damage in doing this? Thanks

Re: headlight wiring (dcaccord)
on the h4 you have 3 plugs that come out of the bulb. 2 of them are for positive wires and one is for a ground wire. The harness for the bulb should have 3 wires comming out of it and if you plug the positive wire of the high beams into the remaining wire that you should have of the headlight wireing harness it should work. Ask me some more questions if you are confused and I will try to help you out

Re: headlight wiring (Stony TSi)
Thanks MugenCivicHx. There is no third wire on the H4 harness for the conversion from 9006, but the other + tab is left unused and accessable on the H4 plug. I think it can work if you use a small piece of wire and splice into the positive of the H1 and connect it to the open positive tab of the H4. I haven't looked to confirm but it seems to fit your theory. What do you guys think? Anybody try it?

Re: headlight wiring (dcaccord)
well all I know is that is how my civic worked 2 of the wires were for positive and one was for negative and it used the same H4 bulb. I am wondering what these headlights look like. So is there only one bulb for the headlights instead of the typical(for accords anyways) 2 bulbs, one for highs and one for lows
