coolant issues
here's the problem.
car is 1994 lx
I think the coolant froze in my lower hose when the temp. is below 30 degrees (past few weeks temp. has been in the teens) the cooling and A.C. fan wont work at all if temp. is VERY COLD . When the temp. does rise 30 degrees the A.C.and cooling fan works. As for the upper hose it gets hot and like i said before the lower hose is cold to the touch but if i squeeze the lower hose to get circulation moving, the AC fan comes on. The other symptom i get , when the car is at idle i get a very bad vibration, when the temp. rises it stops. Anyway i've been reading other post i have not seen anything relating this issue. I'm guessing changing the coolant may solve this problem because the current coolant's concentration is very weak. I did a coolant concentration test the results were not good. Though i may know the answer to my problem, i thought i'd do a post to anyone who may have this issue.

Yea bud, you may want to get the correct coolant in there. Frozen coolant doesnt pump around so well and you'll end up with hot spots on the block before it thaws...that's bad. End up with blown headgaskets or worse.

man you almost would have to have straight water for it to freeze.........
have you checked the level and the strenght lately ?? also if lower radiator hose is cold after engine has been running for a while .. it might be a stuck closed t-stat
