so this is how it all started: i have an automatic 97 accord v-tech. one day my car was running fine, then i turned off the car and took the key out for only a min. then when i tried to start it again, nothing. i got power to everything but no crank. it turns out to be a bad starter. the car sat for about a month and a half after the no crank and its been pretty warm outside, 80s & 90s. well today we put a bran new starter in and it cranks over now but wont start. we checked and its getting spark and its pumping fuel, all the fuses are good. there is fuel in the tank. my dad says the gas smells a little funny to him. will bad gas cause the car not to start but crank+spark?..... what could be the problem?

turn the key to the on position without starting the car and hold the gas pedal down and count to 5 then try to start it...if it still doesn't start check for codes
