Water/Methanol Injection Set-Ups
Well I did some searching and couldnt find to many people posting up their water/methanol injection set-ups and numbers. So if you use W/M injection post up what w/m kit, engine, psi, whp ect. Just so there is more info out there for Honda people looking run W/M injection, Im tired of looking at WRX and Evo set-ups

Re: (Iceman05)
Here is a couple before and after logs from an Audi S4 with RS6/Ko4 turbos and dual sidemount intercoolers running 22 psi on pump gas. He is using a Devils Own Progressive kit and dual 5 gph nozzles. He was spraying winter blend washer fluid that is 35% methanol. This is with almost no tuning of the controller. I think with a little more tuning/logging we can get intake temps to stay closer to ambient. The ignition timing is what the factory ecu allowed before and after. With a .09 second drop in acceleration time just at the top of third gear is pretty damn good. I bet if a whole 1/4 mile had been ran it may have been a .25-.3 drop in time total. Not bad for under $300. He should see some great gains with a few more psi.

I will be doing an install on a MKIII Gti Vr6 with an HPA turbo setup in the next few weeks. I should have some before and after dyno sheets then.

not a separate tune, but you would have to tune for the h20/alky when it starts spraying. The progressive controler like Devil's Own reads off the map signal, and so you set the "start" **** for initial duty spray, then set the other **** which controls the full duty cycle. By manipulating the two you can adjust the ramp of the spray.
Since i have mine set to start spraying at 7psi and kick into full duty by 10psi, i tune the 7psi+ maps according to the ammount of h20/alky.

generally speaking, the mixture will richen up your a/fs, but its also gonna depend a lot on the mixture of your concoction.
I'd recommend spraying 20-25% desired injector duty. Since the h20 does such a great job of thermal mangement, you can run a/fs 12 - 12.5 where flame front speed is fastest and the most torque is made, with minimal ignition advance.
I'm no tuner pro, but this is the rule of thumb i use on my car. Every car is gonna be different so procede in small increments and check the plugs as you go. You've been warned
P.S. Don't rely on a wideband A/F reading when tuning with WI.

Re: (sohc_turd)
Yeah Ive been told that it will send the wideband numbers rich, so what should I use to tune it, looking at spark plugs? and should I look for normal plug color or does the WI change the look of the plug? Just wondering because I know WI steam cleans your combustion chamber so maybe it cleans your plugs also???

H20/alky will skew the displayed a/f readings b/c of differing stoich levels, specific gravity other stuff....
I use AEM's new wideband gauge which also reads in Lambda. Lambda dosn't care what kind of fuel is used- it displays a numbering system in reference to stoich.
plugs still show, so always read those too!

Re: (Boosted B6teen)
New updated results from the S4. What a huge difference tuning the controller makes.
Running 22 psi on 91 octane. Spraying washer fluid 35/65 methanol/water.
Blue is the latest results after more tuning.
Dark Purple is with a little tuning
Pink is the from the earlier posted logs. 0 tuning.
Red is no water injection

Re: (GiNuWiNe)
well from my experience and what I ve seen others do and setup they usually do a tune on the gas that's going to be run whether pump or exotic, and then they add the injection into the mix and start tuning from thier just adding a bit more timing just by a few increments and rechecking the plugs. It would also depend on the kind of mixture that you're spraying into your setup, whether it's straight water, or alcohol mix, or just plain windshield washer fluid. These are just what I have seen and heard work, I used to work in a mustang shop and they are adamant about not using intercoolers or any kind of cooling system accept suplemental injection to keep thier intake temps down, that is on a forced induction setup.
