EBAY TURBOS, any one running this one?
first off I would like to state that Im not asking ht what you guys think of ebay turbos cause I know the most of you will have me tared and feathered. I know there are a lot of horror stories about ebay turbos but all of the ones I have used have worked out great.
so I am selling my to4b today and I am thinking about picking this one up. I was wondering if any one was currently running it and if they could tell me their spool characteristics. just got out of a relationship with a 1.15 hot side and def not looking for that again.
also interested if any one can explain to me a theory about running a bigger compressor housing and a mediocre hot side.
and please leave your ebay judging to another thread.
thanks and happy holidays.

I would like to see how it compares to the normal dirt cheap .50/.63 turbo on ebay that alot of people run. not only in spool time but possible power out put.

why only 262 whp? conservative tune, small exhaust? Or is the turbo too big for low boost applications? oil restrictor? Sounds pretty good 11k miles and no complain...

That exhaust housing is the exact same as the normal ebay .50/.63 , same stamps everything. I don't think it will make it to 550 hp like the listing says.
I had an ebay turbo, the compressor nut came off within 70kms and the turbo killed itself.
I'd say spend the extra $400 and buy a real garrett t3/60-1.

ya I have no doubt it isn't good for 550, all I want out of my car is 375 whp, just want a nasty street car.
as for the ebay turbos reliability, I have ran 3 of them, all lasting more then 8 months (got rid of the cars) and as far as I know 2 of those cars are still running good. I think they are real hit and miss.

do you have 2" exhaust or some sort of bad restriction?
I ran a to4b at 8 pounds on a stock b16 with gsr cams and made 288whp... and that was a very conservative tune with 11.8 afr's
