I need to used smaller exhaust manifold studs
I and using a 15lb cast turbo manifold on my car with a 15ib turbo attached, The stock head uses five 10x1.25mm studs, the manifold I want to use will fit easy IF I use 8x1.25mm studs instead to so the nut will clear the runner . If I use a high quality ARP stud with hiliocoil will this work OK? worst case I only NEED to do it on the 2 outside studs. Pic is manifold with stock painter gasket painted to the surface.

Re: I need to used smaller exhaust manifold studs
So, you are using a turbo manifold that is NOT manufactured for your application ??? IF you intend to pursue this, I would try to use as many of the larger 10mm studs/bolts as possible and only replace those that you HAVE TO with the smaller, weaker 8mm pieces.

Yes, Using a K20 manifold on L15..... I went by the local hot rod shop and they said that he never heard of it, ARP 12 nuts point and a bit of time adjusting and I should be able to use the 10mm studs, thats for the reply.

Re: I need to used smaller exhaust manifold studs
I had the K20 manifold and I am turbocharging The Honda Fit L15 which has nothing but Chinese Ebay units....
I painted over L15 gasket, keep in mind the L15 ports are much smaller than the gasket so while there will be a abrupt opening from 1.25" to 1.75", it won't overlap the ports at all..... Honda Fit owners will be happy about this for sure!
